Osterley Table Tennis Club

INFORMATION

ORGANISER: Neil Hawes. Volunteers will be required for other posts such as secretary and treasurer if or when the club is to be properly instituted.

LAUNCHED: 12th January 2012.

MEETS: every Thursday evening from 8pm until 10pm, although the tables are officially available only from 8.05pm.

PLAYING FEE: £2 per evening for members only.

MEMBERSHIP: £24 for a 12 week-term from 19th April to 5th July 2012 inclusive, including the half-term week. There is a concessionary rate of £12. New members (this includes people who were members in the Spring Term) may attend one evening and pay just the playing fee before deciding to join; they must pay the membership if they attend a second time.

EQUIPMENT: tables and nets are provided by the Sports Centre, balls are provided by the Club. Bats are not provided; if you do not have one, you can hire one from the Sports Centre for the evening for £1.50, plus £5 returnable deposit (rates for 2012); please ask at the reception desk.

DRESS: Players need clothing that does not restrict their movement (jeans are not ideal), and training shoes that will not mark the floor. White clothing is not ideal for playing table tennis.

PARKING: if you drive into the Sports Centre via the entrance in Wood Lane, you must only park in the bays marked in yellow as being for the Sports Centre. Any car parked in any other bay is liable to be clamped and/or towed away (see Car park notice).

INSURANCE: all users of the Sports Centre are covered by insurance provided by the Sports Centre.

CHILDREN: the Club cannot be responsible for children (under 16 years old); they must be accompanied and supervised at all times.

FOOD AND DRINK: are not allowed in the Sports Hall.

ON ARRIVAL: you need to report to reception, but do not pay anything there, simply say you have come for the table tennis club. On arrival in the sports hall, add your name to the “ATTENDING” list and, when you have paid your £2 playing fee, please tick the “PAID” box. Then add your name to the “WAITING TO PLAY” list (see “Rules” and “Order of Play” sheet on the noticeboard).

ON DEPARTURE: please have consideration for local residents and do not make a noise or other nuisance.
